4CD boxset 'Electronic Body Matrix 1' out now! Sideline Magazine has a look...

Out now on the Belgian label Alfa Matrix is the massive 4CD boxset "Electronic Body Matrix 1". Our copy just landed in our mailbox and we quickly unwrapped it and took the little snapshot above to give you a glimpse on what is probably the biggest set of EBM songs ever released in one single release. The boxset unites no less than 112 artists all with rare or exclusive tracks. The full tracklist can be viewed at www.alfa-matrix.com/ebm1. You can expect material Front 242, Nitzer Ebb, portion Control, Covenant, Pouppee Fabrikk, Funker Vogt and so on and so on.

Next to the 4 CDs there's also a download card giving you access to another 40 (!!) additional bands getting the total music play at more than 500 minutes. And we didn't even include the extra 16 tracks that you get via the free "Sounds from the matrix 11" label sampler included in the boxset. More than one reason to get this budget release in your collection.

The set is marketed as a deluxe carton box with an extensive 28-page booklet with band pictures and credits designed by the American artist Greg Rolfes.

"Electronic Body Matrix 1" also marks Alfa Matrix's 10 years of existence.
Label A&R manager Seba Dolimont had this to say about the boxset: "Through this set we are revisiting the roots of the old school 'Electronic Body Music' movement and bridging them together with the current electronic sound. The sampler pays homage to the various branches of the electronic music genre throughout the last decades, gathering pioneers, leading figures of today's scene, rising new talents and artists who deserve to be discovered. This is NOT simply a re-release of new wave EBM classics, but fresh new music!"
